IslandCorps is a 501(c)3 education leadership nonprofit dedicated to reimagining learning for children across Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. We believe education should be gentle, inspiring, and rooted in the unique needs of island communities. Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty by strengthening youth, families, and communities through innovative learning experiences that maximize health and wellness.
IslandCorps integrates pediatric public health, wellness, and ethical leadership to shape a healthier generation and a brighter future. Our programs nurture a love for nature, personal care, mental health, fitness, clean nutrition, and positive values—empowering children to learn with curiosity and confidence, without shame or fear. Join us in transforming education for island children. Together, we can build a future where every child thrives.

Learn about Our Educational Programming
Caribbean Forest School
Our Caribbean Forest School is set to launch in the Dorado, Puerto Rico area in 2024. Until then, we operate adventure-driven education pods for K-5 children to learn and play in a natural ecosystem classroom.
First Response Mobile School
IslandCorp’s pediatric first-response mobile school is a one-of-a-kind educational ecosystem providing unschooled children with reading, writing, problem-solving, mental health, and first aid services.
K-12 School Adoption
IslandCorp’s disaster response volunteers, photographed are volunteers from the Georgetown University Alumni Club and the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez students work to clean, improve, and beautify our adopted Title I K-5 public school in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria.
Pediatric Health Education
IslandCorps is about education and children’s public health. Our signature pediatric public health events educate children to participate actively in their wellness, nutrition, mental health, and environment. We empower them to become heroes in their life stories.
